Chapter 3

I was escorted to room 232 and my escort, Nurse Croll and the girls, headed down the hall. There was no point in putting off the meetings. Roy Stowers was an older man who looked like a scrawny big-eared cowboy. "Come on in and sit down." It the land of lab coats, smocks and whites his dark business suit stood out, that and his shouter holster under the blazer. The room was you basic doctors office examination room, you know, the padded 'table,' the desk, and the grays charts: placement changes, but that is the only big change. "I know the stools are not that bad and the drinks are watered down but, at least it is the one thing you do not have to pay for here." He pointed to a pitcher of ice water. Ok, a cowboy trying to be a comedian. "Now, how long have you known the wine was drugged?"

"Oh, about 10 hours." Had it been that long?

"Half a day?" asked the DEA agent.

"After the tests had been run on the 'Blood of our Savior' last night."

"Ok, how long have you thought that the 'Blood of our Savior' may have been drugged?"

"As sick as I was, the only clue was how hard Reverend Father Dr Lucas J. Samson Jr. and my aunt, Shannon Woodway McCrave pushed the stuff."

"Can you tell me anything?"

I thought for a moment. "Well, the Community of God compound is not really a compound per say, but an isolated neighborhood. You have a small church that seats 80 to 100. You have 20 to 30 houses spread out over the land that they own, and they own a couple square miles. The machine shop is the biggest building with the welding shop, airplane hangers and the barns are the next biggest, then the church, the Reverent place and the store."

"It sound like a small farming community and not a cult compound."

"The Wondrous and Great Community of the True Society of the People of the Glorious Savior of the World, God our Lord, Jesus, the Son of God and the Holy Spirit as One or whatever is a small community on the outskirts of town. A lot of the people work in the town or even head into the city. Which is why the first morning mass is at six A.M. next at nine. Then one P.M.. Six and the last of the day at nine P.M.. Heck, it may look like a farming community but the machine shop is fab-ing a high-tech fermenting tank and a still for a distiller down the road. The people running the hanger are building some new crop dusters and a custom jet airplane for some people, five planes for two customers."

Roy looked at the screen of his lap top and said "Just peachy, hi-tech nuts. And it is the Wonderful and Glorious Community of the True Society of the People of the Great Savior of the World, God our Lord, Jesus, the Son of God and the Holy Ghost as One, but we can call it the Community of God, easer to say. Now how long have you been a member of the Community of God?"

"I would not call myself a member, the state sent me to me 'Aunt' on Tuesday."

"Ok, got you on that. So, all we have is one person's word on the drugs."

"And the tests, But it was Holly who provided the wine. Hmm. Well, just have someone else go to the church, no that won't work, each person has there own cup."

"So, it's a wild goose chase? This drug case is harder to brake then anyone I have heard of."

"If we could get a 'blood' sample from someone else?"

"Now that would be something else again" said Roy with a smile. He typed some more on his computer, "If we have to do something, are they armed?"

"Yes, but not that well, Colby Billmeyer is a gun nut with a mach grade 50 cal. Desert eagle and a high-powered semi-auto Remington hunting rifle that he is quite proud of. The people working the sheep ranch have four .22 cal bolt action varmint rifles. And there are two to six 9mm handguns on the site. Well, I have only seen two shoulder holsters at any time, but they have been on six of the men in the compound. The ones who are around Samson all the time, and yes, I have seen all six men at one time, four had no holsters at that time. Wednesday morning I got a tour the place by Mr. Billmeyer. My Aunt was teaching the grade school kids that morning. We even got to go up to the range. The ranchers where up there plunking at targets. A bench rest, and still targets at 100 ft. and a zeroed 2 to 10x laser rangefinder scope, you know the type, the ones that move the aim point for the range, and they still getting shots that did not even hit the paper, much less in the black. Colby is trying to get people to go to the range to learn to shoot, but the Reverend is anti-gun, at least for most of the flock. You may need to be aware of the off site guns. You do know the Jack Woodway is the elected county sheriff? And he is married to Lucas Samson's niece?"

"Oh, you think the local law is on their side?" replied Roy.

"I hate to say it, it's an insult to my father's profession, but yes the local law is on their side."

"So you know a bit about guns? Your dad was a sheriff?"

"No, he was a police officer and yes, gun safety was a big thing around our house, that and time at the shooting range was time with my dad. We hit the range at least ones a month. I got to hang out with the undercover officers and the swat team at the range. I even got to fire some full auto weapons the range master was 'testing' for ballistics. Can I make a suggestion?" I asked.

"Fire away" he said with a smile.

"Find out who is related to or is a friend of the Reverend Father Dr Lucas J. Samson Jr., he is way too cocky."

"We can't do anything till we have more evidence, but we can look into Father Samson" declared the DEA agent. "Hmm." He started typing on his laptop.

After a few minutes I asked "do you have more questions?"

"Yes, but not for you, at least not at this time, I will get back to you." I have to say sitting in a room as someone fills out reports is boring.

Knock, knock, knock, sounded the door. "Can I come in?" a woman's voice called out.

"Oh, shi . . . Looks like I need to shake a leg and move, I do not wish be trapped by her again, one ride in the elevator is one time more then I needed. At least she thinks I'm a city cop looking for leads on a missing person, a good piece of misdirection, good luck." He slammed the screen down and bolted for the door.

He opened the door and waved her in and left before she could thank him.

With an introduction like that I was wary.

"It took him long enough, he should be out on the streets locking up criminals, not lollygagging around here, if he had done his job in the first place Holly would not be missing." She shook her head and sat. "Hello young McCrave, I'm Mrs. Marcy Leban and I'm here to help you get you safely reunited with your family as soon as possible" declared the fifty-something year old lady.

"I was hoping to see Miss Iris LaCourse, is she still involved?" I asked. Iris was the CPS agent who had got me sent to the hospital in the first place. She said I was not getting appropriate medical care.

"My boss assigned a more experienced person to your case, I most say you look a lot better today than the photos of your that Miss LaCourse e-mailed in last night, they looked ghastly."

"I'm doing a lot better then yesterday, the time in the hospital has got me back on my feet, have you read the report from Doctor Conerty?" I replied.

She paused for a moment. "I have not made it through the whole thing, but I did make out that you are over you case of pneumonia so you can return home to your mom."

"You mean my second cousin ones removed? Shannon McCrave?"

"Well, you most have been really sick, don't you remember, your paper work was finished on Friday, Shannon McCrave is your mother now, you have been adopted, that is great news! You have a mother ones more, and she wants you back home where you belong."

Holly was right, they had sped the paperwork up, "Oh, you may need to hold off on sending me back and read the report a little bit more."

"What do you mean, you are in great shape, you're the picture of perfect health?" stated Mrs. Leban.

"Dose the report talk about the youth bug nano virus?" I asked.

"Yes, but it not harming you, right, no treatment was listed and most of the stuff is linked to other reports like the ones from the CDC and WHO, way too much techno babel, but I read the imported stuff."

I stared at her. "Uh, you may need some help with the techno babel, but my aunt, uh, mother will not read the 'words of a false priest to medicine' she would call it. The work of the devil or something. And that may mean YOU may have to figure-out what is going on."

"Your mother is an intelligent and kind soul. And Mr. Samuel Samson has promised me that you will get the best of care as you get over the trauma of the car wreck that claimed your birth mothers life!"

"Can you please read the reports? If you need help with some of the stuff, I can try to find someone to help." I felt like I was starting to whine.

"But we need to get you back to your family."

"Talk to Doctor Conerty, or even Nurse Sara Croll or Nurse Penny Baumgartel" I said as I got up from the stool.

"AND WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU ARE GOING, YOUNG MAN?"

I want to say that I was going to find some intelligence or to go find the girls, I was starting to develop a bad mood. Instead I told her, "I'm going to find something to snack on. That small bowl of cream of wheat, a quarter of a small orange, one hard-boiled egg, and an 8 oz. glass of orange stuff that I'm not going to even call OJ did not hold me. It's almost nine and I'm famished and water is not the answer. It will give you time to read the reports, the 'youth bug' has only been known about for three months, you may have not have ran into it yet."

She sat there and fumed for a bit. "Andy, you need to go back to your family."

"Mrs. Leban, I will tell you ones more, read the reports, then think and then we can talk about it, but I'm going to find some food for that pit that teens call their stomach, I will be back. Read and think!"

In the hall I calmed down a bit. One to the nurses sighted me and move to stop me.

"Where are you going?" he asked, yes, a male nurse, just like we have female doctors the world has male nurses and not just as orderlies even if most if the skilled ones end up channeled into being paramedics.

"I'm having a snack-attack, can you check my file or call Doctor Conerty to see if I can get some food." He just stared at me and shook his head no. "Look, I'm off my fast, they gave me a small meal I had an hour ago went down easily, I would like some more." He still just stared at me. "Mrs. Leban of the CPS needs time to read a pile of reports before she makes any calls on my case."

"So you thought you would take off? Is that it?" the man asked.

"I don't think that office is on the list of places they drop off snacks at. Well, you could take me up to my room. They may drop off food there and I will need to loss three glasses of ice water before I go back to draining the rest of the picker to try to keep the sound of stomach to a low rumble. Over his shoulder I spied help, Doctor Mitchelson and Nurse Penny.

"Doctor Mitchelson, can you come over here place?" I called out.

"You are not to bother the doctors" said the male nurse, "If you need something like that, you can use the nonpriority call button or your one of the nurses at the right time."

Doctor Mitchelson hurried over. "Hi Andy, what can a help you with? Doctor Conerty is trying to calm down the Honorable Samuel Samson and Father Lucas Samson."

"Well, um, I'm trying to brake loose some snacks" I stated.

"Ok, lets see, how do you get this wireless Personal Access Devise to work?" uttered the doctor.

"Doctor uh Mitchelson, you must be new here" said the nurse who had stopped me.

"Yes, ok, I logged in and I have it to 'enter patient ID mode,' now I need your ID number, right?"

Penny broke in saying "well, you should see buttons on the left side if the screen, one will say 'scan', you can use it just like one of those UPS clipboard things."

"Oh, yes, so you do not have to type the ID every time, hay Crystal is still listed, I'm getting to like these things, even it they are heaver then the pass key cards I'm use to. But, if someone gets a hold of one, how would you fix it? You can't locate the data access point."

"Andrew, wrist" commanded Penny. "No, Doctor Mitchelson needs to scan it." "Now, Doctor Mitchelson, on the top of the screen, under Andrew's name is listed Physician, Doctor Conerty name should be that, hit it and hit enter, now hit locate and enter."

"He is in room 175? and 'on duty'/'call'?" asked the Doctor, "and I was on that list too."

"You are going to cover for Doctor Conerty, right? He can set it up so you can access some or all of his files as he thinks you need them. His PAD is at least in room 175, a brake-room, and he is not clocked out, we can locate the data access point and block an account at the same time, or change access to data" said Penny. She pointed up at the ceiling, "the receivers." "Now hit the back-key to you are back to Andrew's screen. Cornell Gearschawski, can you walk Doctor Mitchelson through the room and meal screens? I wish to talk with Andrew" she said as she pulled me to one side.

Well, she was a nicer the first time I had a running with her. Ok, I was not doing any thing to enrage her this time. "Yes?" I asked her.

"I need to talk to you about you and Holly, do you really love her?"

I knew I did, but how too said that the right way. "I think so, even before the nano got me I liked her, but with the 'youth bug,' well, eh, well, you read the reports."

"Then why did you let her get infected?" Nurse Penny asked.

"Because her life was and still is in danger, she found that someone or a group is using the ignorance Community of God for criminal purposes."

"Are you sure?" she asked, "and why would you infecting her help her?"

"It gets her out of there, quarantine if needed, to answer your second question. Do you know how much money can be made in the illegal drug trade?"

"Father Lucas would not let that happen! He keeps his flock away from any drugs that are not needed! He would look out for his people!" she declared.

"Who can say that he dose not know or care if he did? His people are safe from the scourge. Well, lets just say she wished to get out of the Community of God for a bit, and leave it at that."

"Ok, lets leave it at that. Are you going to marry Holly?"

That stopped me for a bit. "Yes, if she wants me" I answered.

"And Crystal?" she asked.

"I know it sounds male and teenage but, yes. From what I have heard I need one of the girls to live more then three months, and the girls need me for the same reason. That and to keep the pheromone level down to a level that we can leave quarantine with. Please don't make me feel like I have to leave Holly or Crystal in a larch. Crystal and Holly are getting along great, but having me choice one or the other will brake up their friendship and make them both unhappy, and I would not want to hurt either one much less both."

"AND BY NOT PICKING ONE YOU COULD HURT THEM BOTH!" said Penny in a bit of a huff.

"I feel that I must try to help them both. Holly saved my life by getting CPS to send me to the hospital. And Crystal saved my life by giving me the 'youth bug' so I cannot get sent home to die. Bacteria will build up a resistant to antibiotics. I can and should help them if I can." I started to loss my temper but, held it in check.

"You make it sound like you are doing this for them" declared Penny still in a bit of a huff.

"As I said, I know it sounds male and teenage, but, should I not help them? The girls' safety and happiness are too important to me for me to forget" I replied. Penny had the most puzzled look on her face as she tried to sort the issues out. I silently wished her luck as we stood in the hall.

"Ok, Andy, you breakfast is going to be served . . . , hay it just changed, ok, it's on the serving cart now. Wow." I think Doctor Mitchelson had found a new toy. "Andy, Nurse Penny can run you up to your room, can you grab Holly's too?"

"Eh, Yes Doctor. Andy, lead the way" said Penny. She still looked a little troubled.

We headed for room 419 and beat the meal cart. On the way I asked why most of the Nursing staff did not have PADs. "We are to get some more in six months, if we can scrape up the money. We have some text pagers coming in at the end of the month, for testing purposes. The Honorable Samuel J Samson laid to rest a few rules that only made lawyers and people looking jackpot payout's happy. And made it clear you could test some new stuff here safely, if it was fairly safe. Now we are the test ground for some new tech. Not new medicines but com-systems! Oh, we have had some problems, but all and all it has worked great, ones we got all the wiring in place that is, we had to move so many beds around. Well, if you could have heard the bitching from some of the other hospitals you would know it was worth it. We may need to buy some more backups for the power systems and we may fear an EMP event, but we are one of the better hospitals around. Acting in time can save lives, in four cases the new system may have slowed us, but with not loss of life. But most of the time we can respond in less then half the time and act on better info."

I even hit the water closet as Nurse Penny called it before the orderly with the cart stopped at the door to my room. "Hello, we have three breakfasts? This is the second time for this room today."

Nurse Penny said simply "We have three 'youth bugs' two of then less then 24 hours."

"Welcome to the teen years, again. You're about the only ones who think all the kitchen's food in great. Today's breakfast is scrambled eggs, toast, fruit cup, milk and OJ. The snack is a can of fruit juice and M&Ms. Hay, the food trays stay in the room." Penny had picked up one of the covered trays and I had followed suit.

"You can leave the other one on the heater. Andy, we need to get you back to your meeting, Doctors orders. I will take this one to Holly."

"But, okay, and you better make sheer the trays make it back to the kitchen" said the orderly as he notes it down."

We walked back to room 232 in silence.

The first thing out of Mrs. Marcy Leban's mouth was "You most have sent them on quit a chase, young man."

"So, have you read the reports?" I asked.

"Enough about the reports already! Yes, I reread the reports."

"Have you found the references to the 'green crises' in the bit you read?" Why was I the one trying to give her the info? I sat and removed the cover of the tray.

"That is not a snack, that is a meal" Mrs. Leban stated.

"Yes, turns out that was a big snack or something that I had. I have not read the reports my self, but the guy dropping off the meal know that if I had the 'youth bug' then I would need a bit more food then the norm." The toast and one carton of milk down the hatch, the bad mood lifted as fast as the food went down.

"Well, I have seen nothing in Doctor Conerty's report on this or on the 'green crises' you were talking about."

I reached over to her laptop and popped up the search function. "Hay, keep your hands off my computer!" she cried. I typed 'green' + 'death' in and pointed it at the folder with Doctor Conerty's report. "You are not to use my computer young man, and as I said that the report had nothing on green anything. Oh my, there is a page of them!" One hundred and forty three files, and that was only the files that she had gotten from Doctor Conerty's report folder. "No wonder his report took so long to download. I though the wireless link was slow here. I'm going to have to tell my boss that I will need some more time."

The fruit cup and glass of orange stuff disappeared next, as Mrs. Leban promised her boss that I would be safely reunited with my family as soon as possible. I started on the scrambled eggs that could have been called an omelet w/ham, beacon, broccoli, steamed cauliflower, onion, and green peppers as woman from CPS started reading the reports on the 'green crises.'

I knew she must have hit a good part when she pushed her laptop away uttered "There is no way this is true! It is blue balls with a new name. This is trash. It can't happen!"

"And one virus can't cure cancer, HIV/AIDS, missing limbs and old age, but the 'youth bug' will fix them all. Let us try a search for 'HIV/AIDS' and 'youth bug' nano virus"

"You don't have AIDS."

"No, but this is to show you why the bug can't be treated the same as other bugs. It is not like other bacteria, funguses or viruses."

"But, it can't happen. Besides the age of consent is eighteen in this state."

"I hope we can get some rules change. I wish to live. Think that my new mother would brake with her faith on this if it takes the CPS to get normal medical treatment? And have you read up on the pheromones?" She started to read ones more.

"God, we can't let that happen" she mumbled. "By the Saints." "He wants me to sign off on this?!?" "Good lord!" "No way, no f-ing way, sorry about that Andy, I should watch what I said." "That's great, more reports this time on appetite."

She did not notice me leave with the emptied tray and come back.

Time ticked on. I got up and laid on the padded examination 'table' with my hands behind my head. Daydreaming of Crystal and Holly as I passed the time.

At quarter till eleven she looked up and said, "And I was going to rubber stamp this!"

Hopping down I rejoined her. "The report has some stuff in it that may give you some small problems? Want some M&M's" I popped open the can of apple juice and swigged half of it.

She rubbed her eyes, "An hour and a half of reading and the only thing I can say is that this can't be happening. I have to read more. I need to call my boss and ask for even more time."

"Well, take your time."

She must have got an ear-full when she called in. She looked like she had seen a ghost. "Mr. Davis Woodway, my boss, has told your mother and Mr Samuel Samson that you are going home at noon at the latest."

I knocked back the rest of the can of juice. "So, he is going to sign off on it?"

"No, I'm the case worker. I'm to sign off on it."

"Can you hold till Monday, pending research? You only promised your boss that I would be safely reunited with my family as soon as possible and at this time you can't."

"He's called your mother."

"Well, uh, can I stay here? You can say you need to check with the CDC, right?"

"But you don't need to stay here."

"You can say I'm getting treatment for the 'youth bug' and tell them you don't know about the treatment, but it keeps problems from coming up."

"Yes. I need to get out of here. I think your problem starting to get to me."

"So, you will help me?"

"No, it would be braking the law and I'm faithful to my . . . Oh, you mean with your mother, uh, yeah."

What would I be talking about? Then it hit me, but I wanted the girls, not Mrs. Lebam.

"I, I need to go." She left even faster then Roy Stowers had.

I wanted to see Holly and/or Crystal. Instead I got Mrs. Shannon McCrave and Father Lucas Samson walking in some minutes later. This was not a good trade.

The first things out of my second cousin ones removed, 'Aunt' or adopted

Mother was so telling of how she thought. "Andy, you have missed four church services, but I know God will forgive you." Followed on its heels by "We are here to take you home, Andy, so you can go to mass and receive the lords blessing." Then "Holly has missed three church services and it will soon be one more. Can you help us find my little girl? We have prayed and looked for her, but Holly has not been returned to the flock." And ending her fast monolog with "Oh, what did they do to your hair?"

"Doctor Conerty has been giving us some song and dance about a 'youth bug' and such. I think he is trying to keep you here. Our prayers have been answered with your fast recovery. The lord has granted you good health. Having you return is God's wish and we must bow to the Lord our God's will" said Father Lucas Samson.

"Hello Aunt, um, Mom, Father Samson. Mrs. Marcy Leban from CPS is still reading the files." I said to them. "I think she is trying to find out more on the 'youth bug' before letting me out of here."

"Dr Davis Woodway of the CPS has told me that all the paper work was done" said Father Samson. Boy, a lot of the last names in this place where way to common. Woodway and Samson topped my list! Ok, McCrave is on the list too.

"I was informed that my new caseworker is Mrs. Marcy Leban" I replied.

"Well, my cousin would know if the paper work was done, he is the boss" was Shannon's answer.

"Mrs. Leban has the paper work ready, but she is still looking into the 'youth bug' reports."

"Andy, we need to find this Mrs. Marcy Leban and get you home. You did not even need to come to this place. If you give your self to the lord, you will be healed in accordance with his will."

I knew that I would get an ear full for saying it but my bad mood was coming back with a vengeance. "And I like the saying, the Lord helps those who help them selves, why should the Lord help the ones who can, but will not help them selves?"

She looked puzzled for a bit than said, "Young man, I don't like your attitude."

"Shannon, please" said Father Samson. "Andy, we need to leave soon if we are going to make it back before lunch."

"He is my child, and he will behave, right Andrew" voiced my newly adopted mother.

"Reverend Father, what Doctor Conerty told you about the youth bug nano virus?"

"That is not important, getting home and then to church is" stated my mother.

"That is right, Reverend Father, you need to get back to the church to say mass." If I could just get them to go away. "Sorry, I'm not feeling that well, and I'm not in a great mood."

"I know just the thing, some singing at the church. I always feel better after church" said Shannon

"I don't think that is in the books for today. And right now I just want to head up to my room for a bit." I needed to get away from them.

Father Samson smiled and said "lets hold a quick serves here and then you can take a nap."

Well, I was trapped into taking part in the serves and so was the Father. The first good part was 'back washing' most of the bad tasting 'Blood of our savior' wine into the empty can of apple juice. A good enough cover, all I was doing was washing the flavor down. Then about two minutes later my stomach gave its opinion on the wine. I made it to the sink in time, but it was close.

My new mother asked the stupid question "are you all right?"

I washed my mouth out and said "Father, were in the world did you get that wine? It doesn't agree with me at all!"

"That is not wine, it is the 'Blood of Christ.' You must be possessed" yelled Shannon.

"From our own vines at our winery, you must have seen them?" said Father Samson.

"I thought those were green table grapes?" I stated.

"We need to drive the evil spirits out my precious child" yelled Shannon.

"Well, yes they are, but you can make wine from them" said Father Samson. He was frowning. "Do you have any food allergies?"

I was thinking fast. What was it that some people would be allergic to in some wines? Sulfur, that was the stuff. "Sulfates."

"I will nurse him back to health!" stated Shannon. "If it is God's will."

"Sulfites?" he replied.

"The stuff used for food preservatives, a little of some types is ok" I answered. Father Samson relaxed and smiled.

"Did you hear me? We need to drive the evil spirits out of Andy! I can nurse him back to health after the evil spirits have been driven from Andy!" cried Shannon.

I hate to say it. I may be head strong. But I like to think that I'm even tempered. Okey, I blew up. "Shannon Woodway McCrave, I can't see you as the nurturing kind of person! I don't think you could nurse anything, except a stiff drink or possibly feud, and I'm not to sheer about the drink!?!" Boy, I must have hit a nerve.

She stood up and ripped the front of her white blouse open. Buttons flew all over the room. Shannon unhooked her bra and throwing the clothing off she bared her breasts. "Andy, you are wrong, I nursed Holly with these! And I can be proud of them!" Oh yes she could be, 42 DD or some such. She unzipped the side of her skirt and wriggled out of her panties and skirt. putting her hand on her gut she said "and this is my womb and my sex! I gave birth to Holly! I'm a woman! A woman brings life into the world! She cares for Life! DO YOU NEED A CLOSER LOOK AT IT?" I wondered if I could fuck the piss and vinegar out of her. She must have had some good points in the past. She had married Peter McCrave. Yes, no one had reported hearing from him for six years now, two years after she had become separated from him. He had just stopped trying to see his daughter or something. Oh well, maybe age had gotten to her. "I'm a woman!" she cried.

The Reverend Father Dr. Lucas J. Samson Jr. eyes where bugging out. "Mrs. McCrave, you're, you're . . ."

"I'm a woman, do ether of you need more prof. Come here and feel that I'm a woman." She grabbed Father Samson's hands and placed one between her legs and the other on a tit.

I think that the Good Father must have just about gone in the shock. Miss No-Sex was getting ready to rape him. I headed for the door with the not so empty can of apple juice.

I ran into a crowd out side the door: Doctors Conerty and Mitchelson, Nurses Croll and Penny. Doctors Conerty said "He made it out. Pay up Nurse Croll, you owe me 10 bucks."

"Andy, off with the sweatshirt, and hand it up to Doctor Mitchelson. Then you can head up to your room. I know that you will find two people up there that you wish to see" said Nurse Croll as she backed off with Nurse Penny.

I handed Doctors Conerty the can of apple juice and its contents . "You need to get this to the lab, it maybe one more nail in the case against the Father Samson" I said. I pulled off the sweatshirt and handed it up to Doctor Mitchelson who was on a ladder. His head was in the air space above the ceiling tiles and he had a respirator on. As he started to climb down, I glimpsed an air duct were one of the ceiling tiles had been removed. He did not have the sweatshirt anymore. "What is going on?" I asked. Nurse Penny looked a bit upset.

"We are, um, seeing if, um, the Good Father is right and that we do not, um, have a good reason to keep you here. Victor, did you tie the clothing in place?" said Doctors Conerty.

"Yes, Crystal's used panties and Andy's, Crystal's, and Holly's used sweatshirts are wired into the air duct for that room, you can turn the air on now."

Oh, room 232 was going to be in use for a bit. I had to smile as I headed for room 419. The new sweatshirts may or may have not be that bad, but Crystal's old panties? God have mercy, the pheromones they would give off.
